We Look Forward To Meeting You!
Welcome to Eastside Church of Christ. We’ve put together some information here that anticipates and tries to briefly answer some of the questions you may have prior to visiting our church for the first time:
Safe Space
It's important to us that you feel welcome when visiting. Our goal is to create an atmosphere that helps you feel relaxed and comfortable. You will be greeted and welcomed by a team of greeters who will open the front doors for you. There will be plenty of people in the lobby who will be quick to greet you and introduce themselves to you. We are committed to fostering a safe space for our guests to feel welcome to come as they are and connect with God.
Family Friendly
No matter your family dynamics, you're welcome at Eastside church of Christ, and we're excited for you to consider being a part of our church family! We intend to serve the whole family. During our worship service, we have care available for infants and children. Your children will receive real spiritual training from a group of caring leaders during this time.
Worship
In Sunday morning worship at Eastside, you can expect a service grounded in New Testament Christianity, with a focus on scripture, singing, prayer, and a sermon. One distinctive feature you can expect is that our worship is a cappella—that is, singing without instrumental accompaniment. The congregation sings together, aiming for simplicity and focus on the words and meaning of the songs. The worship is likely to feel reverent but warm—intended to be sincerely communal rather than flashy. The sermon is biblically based and aims to be applicable, helping people live out their faith.
Sermon
From the pulpit, you will hear sound expository preaching. The focus of each sermon is centered on the point of the biblical text being addressed. We are committed to preaching the whole Bibleassion, and conviction. We also strive for our preaching to be relevant to today with clarity, p's culture and applicable to the lives of the congregation.
Biblical Teaching
Here at Eastside, we place a high priority on the preaching and teaching of God's Word. The worship service is a time for us to come together as a community to be filled by God, learn from God, be encouraged by one another, and be challenged by God's Word. Other opportunities exist beyond the Sunday worship service where members have a chance to grow, fellowship, or otherwise be a part of a Church family that lives out their faith together.
