Winterfest

Each year our youth group (grades 6 – 12) ventures to the convention center in Gatlinburg, TN to attend Winterfest. This is a national gathering of approximately 12,000 young people who come together to learn about God and His Son, Jesus Christ, from nationally recognized speakers, famous guests, and talented Christian drama groups, artists and comedians. This event is the highlight of the year for our group.
We will leave Friday morning and return Sunday night. All of the kids will receive a letter to turn in to their school that allows them to take an excused absence on Friday the 20th. We will be traveling on a chartered bus with 55 people and will be staying two nights in a hotel. There are plenty of chaperones to ensure the safety of our teens.
The cost is $150 per person, which includes the costs of travel, two nights in a hotel, a three-day Winterfest session pass, and two breakfast meals. Each person will need to bring spending money for 7 meals (most are fast food), snacks while on the bus (in a separate sack as the luggage will be stored underneath the bus), and any spending money while looking around the shops, museums, and attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
Getting into the convention hall requires standing in line in cold weather. Please dress warmly. Everyone should bring three changes of warm clothes, a warm coat, hat and gloves, warm and comfortable shoes, underwear, socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, brush or comb, and any other necessary toiletries.
